This project was about creating a new Book cover for the Best seller Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. My approach was to get into the novel as much as I was able to without the influence of any imagery that has been created for this book. The novel was amazing, I felt particularly attracted by the mood and relationships that the author creates. 

My concept for the cover was based on how the death of one of the characters rips the reality and opens gate where the main character has to deal and play between death and life in a dark atmosphere. The imagery itself is built in one of the key events in the story where Naoko and Watanabe are spending time in the woods. This moment is romantic but it can not go far away from death. The color palette had two iterations one of them was which I picked represent the feeling of conflict that the main character goes through, also recalling the colors used on one of the original versions. And the other one (image on top) was about the dark mood feeling that the main character experiences.
